Tell us more…: I always admired Ed and his mission. I loved the overall aura he generated and every time we interracted at the liquid books stand during the farmer’s market I left feeling like a million bucks. One day my friend Meilina and I were having a beer at Cafe Lumiere in the same building as the Osio Cinemas and Ed and his lady friend had just finished seeing a charming independent film at the theater. We all sat together chatting about the film and about the documentary that Ed’s friend was putting together about Ed and another fellow that always set up his wurlitzer with amazing records from long ago right next to Ed’s little book stand. These two men were what made the farmer’s market SO special and I felt like a kid on Christmas getting to share a conversation with Ed that evening. I’ll never forget that night and I’ll never regret anything more than not taking Ed up on his offer to tour his studio before he passed. Monterey lost a really incredible man that day but he will always be remembered.
